Our Care and Enrichment programmes serve to complement RC\u2019s SPED services by extending support beyond the classrooms through its special student care (Out-Of-School-Hours), Good Life Boarding, and Watch Out, World! (WOW!) enrichment programme.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

RC runs two OOSH centres at Margaret Drive and Yishun Park, which provide care for students with disabilities aged 7 to 18 years and offer a vibrant, nurturing and safe environment with activities, while giving caregivers respite.

The Good Life Boarding programme is a transformative initiative that offers students a structured boarding experience, providing daily living skills training in a real-life setting to build their independence, safety awareness, and engagement experience. Watch Out, World! (WOW!) is an enrichment programme aimed at developing students\u2019 interests and strengths through a highly personalised mentorship programme.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Partnership with ITE to Strengthen Quality Care and Enrichment<\/h2>\n\t\t

Through a 2.5 year-long partnership with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), four Care Facilitators \u2014 Chloris Ng, Kathir Vel S\/O Ravinderan, Mok Siew Suan, and Nur Atiqah Binti A Rahman \u2014 worked at OOSH as part of their Work-Study Diploma in Community Engagement and Development.

Working closely with OOSH students and families, they built positive relationships and helped create a supportive environment that encourages meaningful participation and the development of independent living skills beyond school hours.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Watch Out, World! \u2014
Look What We Can Do!<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Learning does not stop when the school day ends. Through the Watch Out, World! (WOW!) talent development enrichment programme, students are given meaningful opportunities to try new experiences, develop skills and grow in confidence, adaptability and independence.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\n\t\t\n\t<\/video>\n\t\t\t\t\t

For 14-year-old Nur Zulqaysha A\u2019syura from Yishun Park School, WOW! has given her the opportunity to pursue her love of skateboarding with Coach Haziq. More than just picking up a new hobby through the mentorship, the experience gave A\u2019syura the opportunity to learn alongside someone who shared her interests, build confidence in her abilities and develop her passions in ways that were meaningful to her. She shares, \u201cI like to skateboard because it\u2019s challenging and fun! I can feel the wind in my hair, and it\u2019s cool.\u201d

Through the WOW! programme, 21 other students explored interests such as pottery, game coding and digital animation, while students from OOSH got to experience claymaking, sport stacking and even kudo. <\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Beyond Good Life Boarding<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Supported by Capitaland Hope Foundation and the President\u2019s Challenge grants, GLB trains students to build practical skills and confidence for everyday life, while equipping caregivers with tools and strategies to continue this learning at home.

For student Bhrammadevan S\/O Kumarason, 16, the progress made through GLB did not end when the programme concluded. What began as goals in his Individualised Living Plan (ILP) has translated into greater independence and participation in daily life at home.<\/p>\n\t\t

Today, Devan plays an active role in household routines, including taking responsibility for hanging up the family\u2019s laundry. One of his most significant milestones has been learning to wash his hair independently.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n
